The Fiber Deployment Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and successfully delivering FTTX projects within agreed timelines, budgets, quality standards, and customer requirements. This full-time role requires travel across various project locations within Tanzania.

Key responsibilities include managing end-to-end FTTX deployment, from survey and design validation to execution, testing, and handover. The manager will lead field teams, supervisors, engineers, riggers, splicers, subcontractors, and vendors, overseeing aerial and underground fiber deployment, HDPE duct installation, pole installation, fiber blowing, fiber pulling, splicing, testing, and POP activation.

Furthermore, the role involves monitoring project progress against approved schedules, milestones, KPIs, budgets, and customer expectations, ensuring strict compliance with approved Method Statements, SOPs, customer specifications, quality standards, and HSE requirements. The project manager will also coordinate with telecom operators, utility companies, local authorities, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, while managing project cost control, resource utilization, material reconciliation, subcontractor billing, and project profitability. Regular reporting, including DPR, WPR, monthly project reports, and project closure reports, is also a critical part of the role.

Key performance areas for this position include project completion within schedule and budget, achieving targeted fiber deployment productivity (KM/day), ensuring a high first-time acceptance rate, and maintaining excellent quality and HSE compliance. Accuracy in material reconciliation, high team productivity and utilization, strong customer satisfaction, and successful revenue and margin achievement are also crucial.

Key Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. Minimum 7-10 years of experience in telecom infrastructure deployment. Minimum 5 years of proven experience managing FTTX / fiber deployment projects. Strong experience in large-scale fiber rollout, subcontractor management, and multi-location project execution. Proficiency in FTTX/FTTH/FTTB deployment and GPON/XGS-PON networks.
