Northern Engineering Works Limited (NEWL) is seeking 12 qualified Field Engineers to join its Operations team for the Spark Project. The role involves verifying, calibrating, and documenting diesel generator (DG) fuel tanks across telecom passive network sites while ensuring compliance with company standards and Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) requirements. Successful candidates will also perform standardized preventive and corrective maintenance, including generator servicing, in accordance with the agreed Service Level Agreement (SLA).

Responsibilities include conducting physical verification of fuel tanks, measuring actual dimensions and capacities, and developing calibration charts. Field Engineers are expected to inspect fuel systems for leaks or corrosion, capture geotagged site photographs, maintain accurate project documentation, and manage calibration equipment. Applicants must be prepared for 24/7 standby duties and adhere strictly to all safety and environmental policies during site visits across Tanzania.

Key Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline. Minimum 3 years of experience in telecom passive infrastructure operations. Practical experience with diesel generators and fuel systems. Strong knowledge of rectifiers, batteries, and Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS). Proficiency in performing accurate physical measurements and technical calculations.
