ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL SAFEGUARDS (ESS) INTERN @ WORLD WIDE FUND FOR NATURE (WWF)
The Environmental and Social Safeguards (ESS) Intern will assist the ESSA Advisor in maintaining institutional accountability and ethical conservation standards. This role focuses on the implementation, risk assessment, and monitoring of the Environmental & Social Safeguards Framework (ESSF). The intern will gain hands-on experience with grievance mechanisms, stakeholder engagement protocols, and the implementation of Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC) practices across priority landscapes. Proficiency in digital tools like KoboToolbox for robust data collection and reporting is central to this position.
Key Requirements
Degree in Environmental Policy, Social Work, or Law
Knowledge of international social and environmental standards
Experience with KoboToolbox or similar data collection tools
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Ability to conduct field assessments safely
Excellent report writing and documentation skills
Understanding of human rights and community grievance mechanisms
High degree of integrity and attention to detail
Ability to communicate complex guidelines to stakeholders
Willingness to travel to priority landscapes
