We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Expert to support a large-scale SAP S/4HANA Conversion Project from ECC. The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of ABAP development, hands-on experience with S/4HANA simplification requirements, and strong expertise in code remediation, performance optimization, and advanced development frameworks used in S/4HANA. The role involves performing comprehensive ABAP code remediation to address S/4HANA simplification items (SI checks) and optimizing custom objects for HANA DB compatibility, including removal of obsolete statements and improving SQL performance.
In addition to technical remediation, the successful candidate will develop and enhance RICEFW objects and work with modern frameworks like OData services, CDS Views, AMDP, and the RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP). You will collaborate closely with functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions and support migration activities during Unit Testing, SIT, UAT, and Cutover phases. This is a remote, long-term contract position designed for high-level experts capable of delivering quality technical specification documents and performance tuning sessions.
Key Requirements
7+ years of SAP ABAP development experience.
Minimum 2+ years hands-on experience in S/4HANA conversion or implementation projects.
Strong knowledge of CDS Views, AMDPs, and HANA SQL.
Proficiency in OData service development and backend components.
Deep expertise in ABAP Object-Oriented Programming (OO ABAP).
Experience with Enhancements such as User Exits, BADIs, and Enhancement Framework.
Hands-on experience with Forms including SmartForms and Adobe Forms.
Knowledge of Custom Code Migration tools like ATC, SCI, Quick Fix, and SNOTE corrections.
Ability to optimize performance of custom code specifically for SAP HANA.
Understanding of S/4HANA simplification items and their functional impacts.
