Buckreef Gold Company is seeking a qualified Exploration Geologist to join their team at the site in Lwamugasa, Katoro-Geita. The successful candidate will be responsible for core logging on BGC concessions and collecting high-quality geological and geotechnical data vital to the exploration program. This role reports to the Exploration Geology Superintendent and operates on a 4 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation. The position is a full-time contract role intended for motivated individuals ready to contribute to the success of gold mining operations.

Key duties include identifying and testing new exploration targets, conducting detailed geologic logging, and processing drill cores. The geologist will collaborate on preparing project reports, ensuring data quality and security, and complying with all safety and environmental standards. The position requires working in a remote environment and may involve night shifts or weekend work to meet performance expectations. Successful candidates will work within a highly skilled team to develop robust exploration targets and maintain rigorous QA/QC standards throughout the drilling and sampling process.

Key Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Geology or equivalent required. Minimum 1-2 years of experience as an exploration geologist in mineral exploration. Previous experience in orogenic gold deposits is considered a significant asset. Proficiency in GIS and Geologic Modelling software, specifically QGIS and MapInfo. Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
