The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting, implementing, and monitoring Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards to ensure a safe working environment within a continuous 24/7 power generation operation. This role requires a proactive professional capable of managing high-risk tasks and ensuring full compliance with local and international safety regulations.
The responsibilities include conducting daily site inspections, identifying potential hazards, and facilitating toolbox talks to foster a culture of safety awareness among all employees and contractors. The officer will also be tasked with investigating incidents or near misses using Root Cause Analysis and preparing comprehensive HSE reports. By collaborating with operational teams, the Safety Officer will play a critical role in emergency response planning and the implementation of corrective actions to mitigate workplace risks effectively.
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial).
Minimum of 3–5 years of HSE experience within Caterpillar, Power Generation, and/or Oil & Gas operations.
Proven ability to enforce safety standards and promote a strong safety culture on-site.
Strong reporting, documentation, and communication skills.
Very good command of written and spoken English.

The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation of all M&E activities within the SET project under the supervision of the M&E Coordinator. This role involves supporting the design, analysis, and writing of various M&E products, ensuring that project activities are monitored timely and that high-quality data is available for decision-making. The officer will manage the overall data collection process, update project databases, and maintain visualization dashboards to facilitate evidence-based reporting. Furthermore, the M&E Officer will play a crucial role in capacity building, leading training for project staff and partners on M&E practices and data quality. They will facilitate knowledge management by documenting best practices and lessons learned, while organizing data review and reflection workshops. The position also requires integrating Swisscontact principles such as gender equality, social inclusion, and climate change resilience into the M&E framework, ensuring all activities align with the organization's Code of Conduct and reporting requirements for the Government and SDC.
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in monitoring and evaluation, statistics, economics, computer science, or data science.
First work experience in quantitative and/or qualitative research in monitoring and evaluation.
Practical experience supporting or implementing M&E systems, including routine monitoring and reporting.
Experience across the data value chain including data collection, cleaning, analysis, and visualisation.
Experience using digital data collection tools such as KoboToolbox, ODK or similar platforms.
