SAFETY OFFICER @ HR WORLD LIMITED
HR World Limited is seeking a dedicated Safety Officer to join a dynamic team in the automotive and power generation sector in Tanga. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting, implementing, and monitoring Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards to ensure a safe working environment within a continuous 24/7 power generation operation. This role requires a proactive professional capable of managing high-risk tasks and ensuring full compliance with local and international safety regulations.
The responsibilities include conducting daily site inspections, identifying potential hazards, and facilitating toolbox talks to foster a culture of safety awareness among all employees and contractors. The officer will also be tasked with investigating incidents or near misses using Root Cause Analysis and preparing comprehensive HSE reports. By collaborating with operational teams, the Safety Officer will play a critical role in emergency response planning and the implementation of corrective actions to mitigate workplace risks effectively.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial).
Minimum of 3–5 years of HSE experience within Caterpillar, Power Generation, and/or Oil & Gas operations.
Proven ability to enforce safety standards and promote a strong safety culture on-site.
Strong reporting, documentation, and communication skills.
Very good command of written and spoken English.
Additional HSE certification in Oil & Gas, Caterpillar, or Power Generation environments.
Ability to conduct Risk Assessments and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) for operational and maintenance activities.
Expertise in implementing, monitoring, and enforcing Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems.
Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance and operational activities.
Experience in investigating incidents, accidents, near misses, and unsafe acts using Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
