Salisla Investment Limited is seeking to hire a proactive and people-oriented Casual Operations Clerk to join our team in Dar es Salaam. This role is fundamental to the day-to-day operations of our yard, focusing on high-level yard planning and management to ensure all activities are executed timely and meet both company and customer expectations. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of tasks including container inspection, stripping, and loading coordination.
In this position, you will manage various container types, including LCL and abnormal containers, while adhering to strict operational SOPs. You will also be responsible for documentation within the ERP system, issuing interchanges, and utilizing TANCIS for cargo processing. Coordination with security, Clearing and Forwarding Agents (CFA), and Customs officials is a key part of the daily routine to facilitate smooth logistics operations within the facility. The role requires a candidate who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and maintain accurate reporting for the Yard Supervisor.
Key Requirements
Previous experience in port or yard operations management.
Proficiency in using ERP systems for documentation and report generation.
Familiarity with TANCIS (Tanzania Customs Integrated System) procedures.
Ability to perform physical inspections of containers arriving from terminals.
Knowledge of container stripping, loading, and repositioning processes.
