A leading FMCG organization is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Area Sales Manager to take complete ownership of sales volume, market share, and brand leadership across the Dar Es Salaam territory. This role is designed for a strong field sales leader who possesses hands-on experience in distributor management, team leadership, and tactical market execution. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating corporate strategy into actionable sales plans that drive growth and solidify the company's position in the market. In this capacity, you will lead and coach MDR sales teams, focusing on range selling, merchandising, and enhancing outlet performance. You will be tasked with identifying new outlets, converting competitor accounts, and uncovering growth opportunities within your assigned region. Furthermore, the role involves managing distributors effectively, ensuring pricing compliance, and maintaining high standards of market execution. This is a critical leadership position that requires a blend of strategic thinking and boots-on-the-ground sales expertise to ensure long-term brand success.

Key Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in FMCG sales leadership roles Proven track record in managing large-scale territory sales and achieving market share targets Experience in leading, coaching, and managing MDR sales teams to drive performance Strong expertise in distributor management and ensuring pricing compliance across the market Demonstrated ability to execute brand leadership strategies and market execution plans Proficiency in range selling, merchandising, and optimizing outlet performance Ability to identify new business opportunities, including competitor conversions and new outlets Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders Advanced analytical skills for territory management and sales forecasting Must be based in or willing to relocate to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania
