The Landscape Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Manager will lead monitoring, evaluation, learning, and reporting activities for WCS’s Greater Ruaha-Katavi Landscape Program. The role involves designing M&E systems, monitoring project performance, analyzing data, supporting program implementation, and strengthening evidence-based conservation decision-making within the landscape. The incumbent will oversee data collection tools, ensure data quality, and bridge the gap between field-level activities and organizational reporting requirements.

This position is based in Mbeya, Tanzania, and requires frequent travel to remote field sites within the Greater Ruaha-Katavi landscape. The successful candidate will work closely with the Program Director to ensure that all project interventions are evidence-based and aligned with WCS conservation strategies. The role also plays a critical part in building the capacity of local teams and partners to manage M&E systems effectively, ensuring long-term project sustainability and impact documentation.

Key Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences, Environmental Science, Social Science, Economics, Development Studies, or Natural Resource Management. At least 4 years of professional experience in Monitoring & Evaluation roles. Proven experience developing and implementing robust M&E frameworks. Demonstrable experience supporting donor-funded conservation or development programs. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in both quantitative and qualitative data analysis. Excellent facilitation and communication skills for stakeholder engagement. Experience in designing and executing training and capacity building workshops. High degree of integrity and professionalism with the ability to work independently in remote areas. Valid driving license and experience operating 4x4 vehicles in field environments. Proficiency in M&E tools, database management, and information systems.
