PROJECT OFFICER – CHILD PROTECTION @ WATOTO SALAMA FOUNDATION (WSF)
The Project Officer – Child Protection will support critical child protection projects, encompassing monitoring, reporting, and various field activities. Responsibilities include conducting thorough assessments and research on pressing child protection issues to inform strategies. This role also involves collaborating actively with government entities and community partners to develop and implement initiatives aimed at preventing violence against children.
This is an internship/volunteer position with Watoto Salama Foundation (WSF), an NGO based in Kasulu, Kigoma. WSF works to protect children and empower youth through programs in education, child protection, gender equality, GBV prevention, livelihoods, nutrition, climate resilience, and community development. While no salary is guaranteed, a stipend may be provided depending on project funding.

Key Requirements
Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Guidance & Counselling, Rural Development, Theology, or a related field.
At least 1 year of relevant experience in child protection is an advantage.
Good report writing skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Commitment to child protection and community development.
Willingness to work in the Kigoma Region.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Fresh graduate or candidate with up to 2 years of relevant experience.
Ability to conduct assessments and research on sensitive issues.
Experience collaborating with government and community partners.
