FIXED ASSET ACCOUNTANT @ WANANCHI GROUP TANZANIA
Wananchi Group Tanzania is seeking a meticulous Fixed Asset Accountant to manage the full lifecycle of the company's fixed assets. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy of the balance sheet through precise depreciation calculations, asset tagging, and routine reconciliations. The Fixed Asset Accountant will work under the Country Finance Manager to maintain the fixed asset register and ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.
Beyond technical accounting tasks, the role involves proactive collaboration with other departments to manage CAPEX requests and conduct physical asset verifications. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with significant experience in asset management and a strong grasp of ERP functionality. This role provides an essential contribution to the company's financial integrity and audit readiness.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent) preferred.
Minimum of 3–5 years of accounting experience.
At least 2 years of specialized experience in fixed asset accounting.
Experience using ERP systems such as SAGE, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
Strong knowledge of accounting standards, tax regulations, and depreciation methodologies.
Proven ability to conduct physical asset counts and resolve reconciliation discrepancies.
Proficiency in managing Construction-in-Progress (CIP) projects and capitalization processes.
High level of integrity and attention to detail in financial record-keeping.
Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams.
