VOLUNTEER: LEGAL AID DESK ASSISTANT - 2 @ UTU KWANZA
Utu Kwanza is looking for motivated and dedicated individuals to join our team as Volunteer: Legal Aid Desk Assistants in Dar es Salaam. This role involves assisting at the legal aid desk to provide support and information to those in need of legal guidance. It is an excellent opportunity for legal students or recent graduates to apply their knowledge in a practical, real-world setting while contributing to the community. The position requires onsite presence in Dar es Salaam to effectively serve our clients. Successful candidates will work under the supervision of experienced legal professionals, gaining insights into case management and client consultation. This role is crucial for our mission to ensure access to justice for all. A monthly allowance will be provided to support the volunteers during their tenure.
Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Law or related field.
Strong commitment to social justice and human rights.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Swahili and English.
Ability to handle sensitive information with high confidentiality.
Experience or interest in providing legal aid to marginalized communities.
Basic knowledge of Tanzanian laws and legal procedures.
Strong interpersonal skills for client interaction.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Proactive attitude and willingness to learn on the job.
