SAFETY OFFICER @ UTEL GLOBAL
Utel Global is urgently seeking a dedicated Safety Officer to oversee and ensure the highest safety standards at our operations in Mtwara, Tanzania. The Safety Officer will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies and procedures to create a secure working environment for all employees. This role requires a proactive individual with a deep understanding of occupational health and safety regulations, committed to preventing accidents and promoting a strong safety culture. The successful candidate will conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and investigations of incidents, recommending corrective actions to mitigate hazards. You will also be responsible for organizing and delivering safety training programs, ensuring compliance with both company policies and national safety legislation. This position is critical to maintaining a compliant and safe operational framework, contributing directly to the well-being of our workforce and the company's operational excellence.
Key Requirements
Proven experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar role.
In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and standards.
Ability to conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training and engagement.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in developing and implementing safety policies and procedures.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Relevant certifications in occupational health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
First Aid and CPR certification is highly desirable.
Commitment to continuous improvement in safety practices.
