MONITORING, EVALUATION, ACCOUNTABILITY & LEARNING (MEAL) OFFICER - AGROFORESTRY PROGRAM @ TOTAL LANDCARE (TLC) TANZANIA
Total LandCare (TLC) Tanzania is seeking a dedicated Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL) Officer for its upcoming two-year Agroforestry Program. This initiative focuses on communities surrounding the Rubeho Mountains as part of the Rubeho Carbon initiative. The project aims to implement sustainable practices like conservation agriculture, soil and water conservation, and community capacity building to protect forest ecosystems and improve local livelihoods. The candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that project interventions are data-driven and reach their intended conservation goals.
The successful candidate will be based in the rural Lumuma area within the Kilosa/Mbuga landscape. Key duties include developing monitoring tools, coordinating field data collection, and preparing comprehensive reports for management and partners. The role requires regular engagement with farming communities and local government authorities to track indicators related to agroforestry adoption and VSLA participation. This is a field-based position requiring a commitment to adaptive learning and evidence-based decision-making to support the long-term success of the Rubeho Carbon initiative.

Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Development Studies, Statistics, Agriculture, Agribusiness, Forestry, Natural Resource Management, or related field.
Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in MEAL functions within agroforestry, livelihoods, agroecology, climate, or rural development programmes.
Experience with field data collection systems, mobile data collection tools, and reporting systems.
Strong analytical, reporting, and facilitation skills.
Experience working in rural and remote field environments is an added advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and digital data collection platforms.
Ability to work independently in remote rural environments.
Knowledge of participatory approaches and community engagement processes.
Strong data analysis and report writing skills.
Excellent facilitation, coordination, and communication abilities.
Demonstrated ability to train field teams and farmers on data collection standards.
Commitment to adaptive learning and evidence-based decision-making within program implementation.
