PROGRAM OFFICER – NEWBORN HEALTH (3 POSITIONS) @ THAMINI UHAI
Thamini Uhai is seeking three Program Officers for Newborn Health to support the implementation of newborn health interventions at facility, council, and regional levels. This role focuses on strengthening essential newborn care, neonatal resuscitation, KMC, and care for small and sick newborns within the 'Mjamzito na Mtoto Salama' program. Work locations for these positions include Kigoma, Katavi, and Geita.
The successful candidates will be responsible for monitoring program performance and supporting data-driven decision-making to improve health outcomes. You will collaborate closely with RHMTs, CHMTs, and facility teams to foster quality improvement activities and health worker capacity building. This initiative is part of a five-year program funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies and the Gates Foundation to improve maternal and newborn health services in underserved rural communities in Tanzania.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery, or related field.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in RMNCAH/newborn health programming.
Proven experience in newborn care systems and clinical mentorship.
Demonstrated expertise in quality improvement methodologies.
Ability to support implementation of newborn health interventions at multiple administrative levels.
Strong skills in monitoring program performance and data analysis.
Capability to collaborate effectively with RHMTs, CHMTs, and facility teams.
Knowledge of essential newborn care and neonatal resuscitation protocols.
Experience in managing care for small and sick newborns.
Proficiency in reporting and documentation for donor-funded projects.
