CONSULTANT – BASELINE STUDY & MAPPING EXERCISE @ SHIVYAWATA
SHIVYAWATA (Tanzania Federation of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities) is seeking a highly qualified consultant to lead a critical Baseline Study and Mapping Exercise focused on the inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) initiatives within Tanzania. This project is a vital component of the EDAN/Felm-funded initiative titled 'Inclusion for Climate Resilience in Tanzania,' for which SHIVYAWATA serves as the primary implementing partner.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive research, mapping existing gaps in climate resilience, and providing actionable recommendations to enhance the participation of PWDs in DRR efforts. The assignment is scheduled for a duration of 14 days, during which the consultant will work closely with stakeholders to ensure high-quality outputs that align with international disability-inclusive development standards.

Key Requirements
Master's degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Policy, Disability Studies, Climate Change, or a related field.
Minimum 4 years of proven experience in conducting baseline studies, evaluations, or academic research.
Demonstrated expertise or preference for disability-inclusive development methodologies.
Fluency in both written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
Strong analytical and report-writing skills to translate complex findings into accessible formats.
Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, including Persons with Disabilities and local community leaders.
Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods appropriate for field-based mapping exercises.
Understanding of the climate change landscape and disaster risk reduction frameworks in Tanzania.
Demonstrated project management skills to ensure the delivery of high-quality reports within a 14-day timeframe.
Experience in designing surveys or data collection tools tailored for marginalized populations.
