MEL SPECIALIST @ SEDITVICOBA
The MEL Specialist will be responsible for designing and implementing the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning framework for SEDIT's programs focused on financial inclusion and women's economic empowerment. This role involves developing data collection tools, overseeing field data gathering, and analyzing performance indicators to ensure project objectives are met effectively. You will work closely with project teams to foster a culture of learning and evidence-based decision-making through rigorous data analysis.
Additionally, the specialist will play a key role in reporting to partners such as COWATER-Sweden, ensuring that all progress and impact data are accurately captured and presented. The position requires frequent travel to rural areas to monitor VICOBA and VSLA activities firsthand, providing technical support to field staff and ensuring the integrity of the data collected from the community-managed groups. You will lead the development of impact stories and case studies to demonstrate the effectiveness of the NGO's interventions.

Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in monitoring and evaluation within the NGO sector.
Proficiency in digital data collection tools such as KoboToolbox, ODK, or SurveyCTO.
Strong analytical skills using statistical software like SPSS, Stata, or advanced Excel.
Experience working with Community Managed Group models like VICOBA, VSLA, or COCOBA.
Proven ability to design and implement MEL frameworks, including logic models and theory of change.
Excellent report writing skills in both English and Swahili for diverse stakeholders.
Ability to conduct field visits in rural contexts and coordinate with local community leaders.
Deep knowledge of women's economic empowerment indicators and gender-sensitive MEL.
Strong communication and presentation skills to share findings with international partners.
