GENDER SPECIALIST @ SEDIT
SEDIT is seeking a Gender Specialist to ensure that all programs effectively integrate gender equality and women's empowerment principles. Working within the partnership of SEDIT and COWATER – Sweden, this specialist will provide technical guidance on gender mainstreaming across all project activities, particularly those involving financial inclusion and rural development. The role involves identifying gender gaps and designing strategies to promote equal participation and benefit for women.
The Gender Specialist will also be responsible for conducting gender audits, developing gender-sensitive indicators, and training staff and community members on gender issues. By working directly with VICOBA and other CMGs, the specialist will help address cultural and structural barriers to women's economic advancement. This position is vital for maintaining the NGO’s focus on transformative social change in Tanzania.

Key Requirements
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, Sociology, or Social Sciences.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in gender-focused development roles.
In-depth understanding of gender dynamics in rural Tanzanian contexts.
Proven experience in gender analysis and gender auditing.
Ability to design and lead gender equality training workshops.
Excellent communication and report writing skills in English and Swahili.
Familiarity with national and international gender policies and frameworks.
Experience working with women’s economic empowerment groups (VICOBA/VSLA).
Strong advocacy and networking skills.
Sensitivity to local customs while promoting progressive gender norms.
