FINANCIAL INCLUSION / LINKAGES SPECIALIST @ SEDIT
The Financial Inclusion / Linkages Specialist will lead efforts to bridge the gap between informal community-managed groups and formal financial institutions in Tanzania. Under SEDIT and the COWATER – Sweden partnership, this role involves designing and implementing strategies that allow VICOBA, VSLA, and COCOBA members to access broader financial services, such as bank accounts, insurance, and credit. This is a core component of the project's strategy to enhance financial security for rural women.
Responsibilities include building partnerships with commercial banks and microfinance institutions, providing financial literacy training, and exploring digital financial solutions. The specialist will work to ensure that groups are 'bank-ready' and that financial institutions offer products suited to the needs of rural populations. This role combines financial expertise with community outreach to create a more inclusive financial ecosystem in Tanzania.

Key Requirements
Degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, or a related field.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in financial inclusion or microfinance.
Proven track record of linking informal savings groups to formal banks.
Strong understanding of the Tanzanian financial sector and regulatory environment.
Knowledge of digital financial services and mobile money applications.
Experience in developing financial literacy training modules.
Strong negotiation and partnership-building skills.
Analytical skills to assess the creditworthiness of community groups.
Fluency in Swahili and English.
Willingness to conduct field visits and work closely with rural communities.
