GENERAL MANAGER @ RINA UHR
We are seeking a seasoned General Manager for an exclusive 30-key luxury boutique hotel located in Tanzania, East Africa. This role involves overseeing all aspects of the property’s operations, ensuring that the highest standards of luxury and guest service are consistently met. The General Manager will be responsible for leading multiple departments, including Food & Beverage, Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, and Sales, ensuring a seamless and high-quality guest experience. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a strong focus on team building and staff development. A significant part of the role involves mentoring local teams to create a unified, high-performing culture. We are looking for someone with a guest-facing personality who can represent the hotel with excellence and handle challenges with a solution-oriented approach. Technical proficiency in hospitality systems like OPERA or IDS is required to manage administrative and operational workflows effectively.
Key Requirements
Must be a Hotel Management Graduate.
Approximately 8-10 years of experience in medium-sized hotels.
At least 3 years of experience as a General Manager specifically in boutique or independent hotels.
Strong multi-department operational leadership across F&B, Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, and Sales.
Demonstrated passion for training and mentoring local teams.
Ability to build and maintain a unified, high-performing team culture.
Highly guest-facing with a proactive and solution-oriented personality.
Familiarity with OPERA or IDS property management software.
Proficiency in basic MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage diverse stakeholders.
