PULSE BAY is a new premium lifestyle destination launching in Zanzibar, Tanzania, encompassing a Beach Club, Wellness facilities, Events & Entertainment, and VIP Experiences. This is a unique opportunity for a visionary Executive Chef to lead the culinary concept and kitchen operations from pre-opening through launch and long-term. The role is permanent and requires an individual with outstanding culinary artistry and the drive to create something exceptional, committing to the project for years to come.

As the Executive Chef, you will have significant pre-opening responsibilities. These include active participation in restaurant opening preparation and launch planning, developing kitchen operational standards and SOPs from scratch, and overseeing kitchen team recruitment, onboarding, and training. You will also be involved in food cost planning, financial forecasting, and the development of kitchen workflows and production processes. Experience in kitchen design and layout planning will be a strong advantage.

Candidates should possess a minimum of 5 years in senior culinary leadership positions with proven restaurant opening experience. Deep knowledge of diverse cuisines, local ingredients, and modern techniques is essential, alongside proven expertise in menu engineering, food costing, and supplier negotiations. A formal culinary education is an advantage, though strong practical experience is equally valued. Excellent English communication skills are required, and additional languages are a plus.

Key skills for this role include strong leadership and team management abilities, operational management proficiency, and experience with pre-opening projects. A solid understanding of HACCP and Food Safety standards, staff training and development, and experience working with multicultural teams are also critical for success in this dynamic environment.
