HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL (HSE) OFFICER @ NYATI MINERAL SANDS
The Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Officer will be responsible for ensuring strict adherence to OHS and environmental standards for all employees and visitors at the Tajiri Mine Site and Mineral Separation Plant in Pangani, Tanga. You will be expected to provide safety coaching, lead toolbox meetings, and ensure the operation remains fully aligned with Tanzanian mining legislation and ISO 45001:2018 standards.
Your role involves performing regular workplace inspections, conducting formal risk assessments, and investigating any incidents or accidents that occur on-site. Furthermore, you will manage Environmental Improvement Programmes and oversee water management protocols to maintain legal environmental compliance throughout the mining operations.

Key Requirements
Tertiary degree in Health and Safety Management or equivalent field.
Valid ISO 45001:2018 OHS certification.
Tanzania OSHA (NOSCH I & II) qualifications.
Formal training in Risk Management and Accident Investigation.
Valid Tanzanian Driving License.
3-4 years of safety experience specifically in a mineral processing plant.
In-depth knowledge of Tanzanian mining legislation including OSHA and the Mining Act.
Strong hazard identification and site inspection skills.
Proficiency in both English and Kiswahili, both written and spoken.
Ability to develop and implement effective Standard Operating Procedures.
