FIELD COORDINATOR (MULTIPLE POSITIONS) @ MWANZA INTERVENTION TRIALS UNIT (MITU)
The Mwanza Intervention Trials Unit (MITU) is seeking highly motivated Field Coordinators to join its collaborative research team in Mwanza, Tanzania. The Unit, a partnership between the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the National Institute for Medical Research, focuses on evaluating interventions against HIV and other health challenges. Successful candidates will play a pivotal role in a large-scale community-based survey evaluating a single dose of the HPV vaccine in males to reduce population prevalence of HPV.
Key responsibilities include overseeing multiple field teams, ensuring strict adherence to trial protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Coordinators will be responsible for community engagement, providing trial information to leaders and potential participants, and ensuring queries are answered accurately. The role also involves overseeing the handling, storage, and transportation of samples, stock management for teams, and ensuring full compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and documentation standards. Multiple positions are available for candidates with strong leadership skills and a background in clinical research.

Key Requirements
At least 3 years of experience leading clinical or community-based research projects.
A degree from a recognized institution in health sciences, social sciences, or a related field.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Swahili.
Proven ability to lead and coordinate multiple field teams effectively in a research setting.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
Experience in handling, storing, and transporting biological samples according to strict protocols.
Strong organizational skills for managing stock, equipment, and field logistics.
Proficiency in Good Documentation Practice (GDP) to ensure accurate trial records.
Ability to engage and communicate effectively with community leaders and diverse participants.
Commitment to maintaining participant confidentiality and data integrity throughout trial procedures.
