COMMUNITY MOBILIZERS / TRACERS – MULTIPLE POSTS @ MWANZA INTERVENTION TRIALS UNIT (MITU)
As a Community Mobilizer / Tracer for the Mwanza Intervention Trials Unit (MITU), you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between the research team and the local community. The primary focus of this role is to sensitize community members about the HPV vaccine trial, recruit eligible participants, and trace those who might have missed follow-up appointments. This field-based position requires a deep understanding of local dynamics and the ability to communicate scientific concepts in an accessible manner. You will be instrumental in building trust within the community to ensure high participation rates and the overall success of the research project. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors and traveling frequently to various wards and districts in the Mwanza region.
Key Requirements
Educational background in Community Development or Social Science
Fluency in Swahili and common local languages in Mwanza
Strong communication and persuasive speaking skills
Experience in field-based community outreach or health campaigns
Ability to travel extensively within local communities
Knowledge of basic community health and vaccination principles
Skill in tracking and tracing individuals for health follow-ups
Proficiency in basic English communication
Commitment to maintaining participant privacy and research ethics
Ability to work effectively with local community leaders
