REGIONAL LEGAL & CORPORATE OFFICER – EAST AFRICA @ KAMIT ENERGIES TANZANIA LTD
Kamit Energies Tanzania Ltd, a subsidiary of Kamit Group Ltd, is seeking a qualified Regional Legal & Corporate Officer for East Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal and corporate support for the company’s operations across the region. Key duties include handling day-to-day legal matters, managing corporate governance, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and coordinating with external counsel on complex issues. This role is pivotal in mitigating legal risks and ensuring the company adheres to all applicable laws and regulations within Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda. The role reports directly to the CEO and Group Management.
The position requires an experienced professional who can draft and review standard contracts, manage regulatory filings, and support litigation management. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in a corporate or in-house legal setting and must be an admitted advocate. You will prepare detailed legal and compliance reports for management and liaise with various regulators. The gross salary for this position is 2,500,000- 3,500,000/= TZS. Candidates should be highly professional, trustworthy, and capable of thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining strict confidentiality and high ethical standards.

Key Requirements
Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized institution.
Must be an Admitted Advocate in at least one East African jurisdiction.
Minimum of 5 years of corporate or in-house legal experience.
In-depth knowledge of Tanzanian, Ugandan, and Kenyan corporate, labour, and commercial law.
Strong legal drafting and analytical skills for contract management.
Professional copywriting skills with the ability to interact at all levels.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
High level of discretion, integrity, and ethical standards in handling sensitive info.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Proven experience in litigation management and legal risk mitigation.
