Jackfruit Cafe is a premier garden café, coffee shop, and all-day restaurant located in the heart of Shanty Town, Moshi. Operated by Laryan Company Limited, we are renowned for serving a diverse, high-quality menu including pizza, pasta, burgers, sushi, salads, and specialty coffee. We serve a vibrant mix of local residents, the expatriate community, and international visitors to the Kilimanjaro region.
As our Head Chef, you will be the heart of our kitchen operations. This is a hands-on, active role where you will lead our culinary team from the front lines, ensuring that every dish meets our exacting standards for taste, presentation, and consistency. You will work in a professional, respectful, and fast-paced environment, collaborating closely with our store manager to deliver an exceptional dining experience to every guest.

Key Requirements
5+ years of professional kitchen experience
At least 2+ years of experience in a Head Chef or Sous Chef role
Advanced proficiency in English and Kiswahili
Proven ability to manage food costs and minimize waste
Proficiency in POS systems and basic spreadsheet management
Deep understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations
Strong leadership skills to manage a medium-sized kitchen team
Reliability and availability to work weekends and public holidays
Formal culinary training or certification is highly preferred
Ability to work calmly under pressure in a high-volume service environment
