DIVISION LEAD, SOLAR ENERGY @ HSD-MELT
The Division Lead, Solar Energy is a strategic leadership role tasked with owning the division's business plan, market positioning, and expansion roadmap. This position involves driving business development through client acquisition, bid management, and key account growth across corporate and government segments. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director on performance and pipeline targets to ensure market growth.
Responsibilities also include overseeing the full project lifecycle, from design to commissioning, while ensuring all engineering designs meet IEC/IEEE and local standards such as EWURA and TANESCO. You will manage the division's budget, P&L, and financial reporting, emphasizing disciplined cost control and cash flow management. Maintaining strong relationships with regulatory bodies and development finance institutions is vital for the successful execution of projects in the energy sector.

Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Energy Engineering
Professional engineering registration (ERB Tanzania, IET, IEEE, or equivalent)
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in the energy sector
At least 4 years in a management or leadership role
Proven experience in business development and client acquisition
Expertise in commercial and contract management and financial modelling
Technical ability to approve engineering designs and energy yield assessments
Experience overseeing full project lifecycle from design to commissioning
Ability to manage division budget, P&L, and financial reporting
Strong relationship management skills with regulatory bodies like EWURA and TANESCO
