ASSISTANT MANAGER (RETAIL) @ HSD-MELT
The Assistant Manager (Retail) is a critical role responsible for overseeing daily store operations and ensuring a high-quality shopping experience for all customers. You will lead the enforcement of planograms, pricing accuracy, and shop cleanliness, while actively monitoring marketing campaigns and supplier activations. The role involves significant coordination between the floor staff and the accountant to resolve cash-related disputes and manage floats in various currencies including USD, TZS, and EUR.
In addition to floor management, you will be tasked with stock control and inventory oversight, ensuring that replenishment occurs efficiently and that near-expiry items are tracked and managed. As a leader, you will manage shift workforces, allocate staff where needed, and serve as the first point of contact for customer complaints. This position reports directly to the Deputy Operations Manager and requires a candidate who is diligent in reporting infrastructure issues and maintaining professional compliance within the retail space.

Key Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of retail operations experience.
Proven track record in frontline team management.
Expertise in store floor management and planogram enforcement.
Ability to coordinate marketing materials and monitor campaign execution.
Proficiency in managing cash floats in multiple currencies (USD, TZS, EUR).
Strong customer service skills aligned with AURA standards.
Experience in stock and inventory control including goods reception.
Knowledge of monitoring perishable goods and at-risk SKUs.
Capability to allocate staff efficiently and manage shift breaks.
Excellent reporting skills for infrastructure and technical failures.
