SENIOR IP & TRANSPORT NETWORK ENGINEER (L2/L3) @ GREEN TELECOM
Green Telecom is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IP & Transport Network Engineer to join our growing team in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This role is critical to the stability and performance of our carrier-grade infrastructure, requiring deep technical expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust IP and Layer 2 transport networks. The candidate will be expected to provide high-level support for our ISP/MNO environment, ensuring seamless connectivity for our diverse range of enterprise and wholesale clients.
As a Senior Engineer, you will take ownership of network backbone stability, change management, and incident resolution. You will work closely with technical teams to optimize network performance, manage capacity, and implement advanced routing policies. We are looking for a proactive professional who thrives in a 24/7 operational environment and is capable of managing complex equipment configurations across multiple vendor platforms.

Key Requirements
8+ years of experience in ISP, Carrier, or MNO environments.
Proven proficiency in designing, configuring, and troubleshooting IP backbone and Layer 2 transport networks.
Deep hands-on expertise with VLAN, QinQ, Carrier Ethernet, and L2VPN technologies.
Strong experience configuring BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and VRRP routing protocols.
Demonstrated ability to configure and manage Cisco, Huawei, Juniper, Nokia, or MikroTik equipment.
Experience managing MPLS VPN, VPLS, and Data Center Interconnects.
Strong analytical skills for diagnosing MTU, VLAN, and complex connectivity issues.
Ability to maintain accurate network documentation, IP addressing plans, and topology maps.
Experience in network capacity planning and performance optimization.
Possession of industry-recognized certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, HCIP, or JNCIP.
