PLANNING & BILLING ENGINEER – WATER/ ROAD PROJECTS @ GLOBUS RECRUIT
This role involves leading the planning and billing departments for major infrastructure projects in Tanzania, focusing specifically on water and road development. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed project schedules, monitoring site progress, and ensuring that all billing and quantity surveying activities are performed accurately and on time. You will play a critical role in financial management by certifying contractor invoices and managing project variations to maintain budget control. Beyond technical tasks, the Planning & Billing Engineer will collaborate with site managers and stakeholders to align project goals with delivery timelines. You will work in a dynamic environment that requires strong analytical skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to significant national infrastructure that improves transportation and water access across various regions of Tanzania.
Key Requirements
6–10 years of professional experience in Civil Engineering with a focus on planning and billing.
Proven track record in Water Supply, Pipeline, or Road Infrastructure projects.
Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
Strong expertise in quantity surveying, cost estimation, and preparation of bills of quantities.
Experience in processing interim payment certificates and managing contractual variations.
Ability to perform detailed progress monitoring and report on project performance metrics.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Excellent communication skills for coordinating with multi-disciplinary project teams.
Deep understanding of Tanzanian construction regulations and international engineering standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to resolve site-related logistical issues.
