GEDSI (1 POSITION) @ FORLAND
FORLAND is looking for a dedicated GEDSI (Gender, Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion) intern to ensure that project activities are inclusive and equitable. The intern will assist in mainstreaming gender and social inclusion across all forestry and land use initiatives in Mafinga. This includes monitoring the participation of marginalized groups, conducting social assessments, and providing recommendations to improve the project's inclusivity footprint.
The successful intern will gain significant experience in implementing social safeguards and GEDSI principles within a large-scale environmental project. You will work with the project team to identify barriers to participation and help design interventions that empower women, youth, and persons with disabilities in the forestry value chain. This role requires a high degree of empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to social justice.

Key Requirements
A degree in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Development Studies, or a related field.
Deep understanding of GEDSI concepts and their application in development projects.
Strong analytical skills to conduct social inclusion assessments.
Excellent communication and community mobilization techniques.
Ability to advocate for marginalized groups within a professional environment.
Experience in data collection and qualitative research methods.
Empathy and cultural awareness when working with diverse communities.
Ability to work collaboratively with technical forestry staff.
Strong reporting skills to document social inclusion progress.
