The Relationship Manager for Institutional and Retail Deposits is a senior-level position dedicated to driving the growth and management of various deposit products. This includes Call Accounts, Savings Accounts, Current Accounts, Trust Accounts, and Fixed Deposits for individuals, groups, Micro and Small Enterprises (MSE), and large institutions. The successful candidate will lead product development, strategy implementation, and customer acquisition while ensuring that all activities align with regulatory standards and corporate goals. The role is highly collaborative, requiring coordination with marketing, digital, and analytics teams to improve product features and customer experience.

In this capacity, the manager is responsible for the entire product lifecycle, from design and pricing to launch and ongoing enhancement. A key focus is on Current Account Savings Account (CASA) acquisition and balance growth, along with implementing initiatives to improve customer retention. By monitoring market trends and competitor offerings, the Relationship Manager will suggest strategic shifts in pricing or positioning. This role is essential for maintaining a competitive edge in the Tanzanian banking sector, specifically within Dar es Salaam, by tailoring products to diverse segments such as mass market, affluent clients, and senior citizens.

Key Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in retail or institutional banking. Specific professional experience focusing on deposits or liabilities. Strong understanding of diverse banking products and customer segments. Deep knowledge of distribution channels within the banking industry. Extensive familiarity with regulatory requirements related to retail deposits. Proven ability to drive CASA (Current Account Savings Account) acquisition. Expertise in developing and implementing growth strategies for deposit bases. Ability to oversee the full lifecycle of deposit products from design to launch. Competency in monitoring market trends and competitor pricing/positioning. Excellent coordination skills to work across product, marketing, and digital teams.
