SENIOR TECHNICIAN – CPS @ EDG NORTHERN CAPE
EDG Northern Cape is currently seeking a qualified and highly experienced Senior Collision Prevention System (CPS) Technician to join their technical team in Kathu. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and efficiency of mining operations through the expert installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of sophisticated collision prevention and proximity detection systems. The successful candidate will work directly on-site, ensuring that all safety technologies are functioning optimally to prevent accidents and minimize downtime.
The responsibilities extend beyond technical repairs to include maintaining meticulous records of all installations and maintenance activities. Key Requirements
Matric (Grade 12) completion is compulsory.
Possession of a valid driver’s licence is required.
Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience specifically in collision prevention systems.
Proven history and experience working within a mining environment.
Demonstrated background in Auto Electrical or General Electrical systems.
Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for electrical and safety systems.
In-depth knowledge of CAS/CPS systems and their operational frameworks.
Ability to read and interpret complex electrical wiring diagrams.
Practical experience working on 12V and 24V electrical systems.
Must be medically fit and cleared to work on a mining site.
Residency in the Kathu area is mandatory.
