Experience with large-scale production and a strong understanding of cost control are highly valued. The role demands creativity in developing seasonal menus and special occasion items. Flexibility to work early morning shifts is often required in a hotel bakery environment.

Key Requirements

Formal culinary training or certification in patisserie/baking. Proven experience as a Bakery Chef, Pastry Chef, or Baker in a hotel or high-volume culinary environment. Good communication skills in Swahili; basic English is an advantage for recipe interpretation. Be honest, creative, and dedicated to producing high-quality baked goods. Ability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, in a fast-paced kitchen. Expertise in preparing a wide range of bakery items, including breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts. Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and food safety standards. Ability to manage inventory, control costs, and minimize waste. Creativity in developing new recipes and decorating baked goods. Strong organizational skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
