CLINICAL OFFICER – NCD & PRE-SURGICAL OPTIMIZATION @ CITY EYE HOSPITAL
City Eye Hospital is establishing a specialized NCD & Pre-Surgical Optimization Clinic to enhance surgical readiness and improve chronic disease management for its patients. The hospital aims to ensure that individuals requiring eye surgery are not delayed or lost due to uncontrolled hypertension or diabetes. This clinic will be fully integrated with existing OPD, theatre, pharmacy, and laboratory services to provide a seamless care experience and strengthen the overall patient pathway.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing patients with uncontrolled chronic conditions, stabilizing them within defined timelines to ensure they can proceed safely to surgery. You will track patients through the pre-surgical optimization pathway, run a structured chronic disease clinic, and provide continuous support to ensure patient adherence and follow-up. This role requires a disciplined professional who values excellence and compassion in patient care while operating within a protocol-driven medical environment.

Key Requirements
Diploma in Clinical Medicine (Registered Clinical Officer)
Valid practicing license in Kenya
5+ years’ experience in a busy medical outpatient setting managing hypertension and diabetes
Formal training in diabetes and hypertension management
Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills
High personal discipline and consistency in protocol adherence
Proven ownership and follow-through in patient care tasks
Excellent patient-centered communication and professionalism
Experience working within structured, target-driven medical systems
Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including pharmacy and laboratory
