TECHNICAL LEAD – EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT @ BRAC MAENDELEO TANZANIA
BRAC Maendeleo Tanzania is seeking a competent, dynamic, and self-motivated individual to serve as the Technical Lead for Early Childhood Development (ECD). The Technical Lead will be responsible for managing the implementation of the AIM project’s ECD component across Tanzania. This strategic role involves overseeing all day-to-day management and administrative aspects of the ECD programming, ensuring that all activities align with both local needs and global standards. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of the AIM Program Manager and receive programmatic guidance from the global ECD technical team at BRAC International. Key responsibilities include providing effective supervision and management of staff, developing team capacity, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services through volunteers. The role requires a strong communicator who can troubleshoot issues, multi-task under pressure, and represent the organization in discussions regarding government policies and ECD sector development. As a leader within the organization, you will play a vital role in shaping the early education landscape through innovative, play-based programs and curriculum development.
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, Early Childhood Development or a relevant degree program.
7-10 years of professional experience in the Early Childhood Development (ECD) sector.
Proven experience in field and leadership roles within the ECD sector.
Demonstrable experience managing ECD related interventions or projects.
Significant experience building and managing project teams.
Proficiency in using project cycle management tools such as work plans and budgets.
Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) for social programs.
Experience in recruitment and capacity building for staff and team members.
Expertise on play based ECD programs, early childhood curriculum and training.
Deep knowledge of Child Protection and the Child Protection Systems in the Country.
Understanding of delivering services through volunteers.
Knowledge on Government policies and programs pertaining to ECD sector development.
