MECHANICAL ENGINEER (COGENERATION PLANT) - 1 POSITION @ BAGAMOYO SUGAR LIMITED
Bagamoyo Sugar Limited is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our Cogeneration Plant team in Bagamoyo. The successful candidate will be responsible for the continuous operation and monitoring of boiler systems and steam turbines, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are met at all times. This role involves active participation in both preventive and breakdown maintenance of plant equipment, requiring a hands-on approach to mechanical troubleshooting and repair to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
In addition to technical operations, the Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for maintaining accurate logs, checklists, and technical reports to document plant performance and maintenance activities. Candidates should possess a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and a commitment to industrial safety. Key Requirements
Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
1-3 years of relevant experience in a mechanical engineering field.
Basic understanding of industrial safety protocols and standards.
Technical knowledge of boilers, turbines, pumps, and valves.
Ability to operate and monitor complex steam turbine systems.
Competency in supporting preventive and breakdown maintenance of plant equipment.
Strong ability to maintain accurate technical logs, checklists, and reports.
Effective communication skills for coordinating with supervisors and team members.
Analytical thinking for troubleshooting mechanical failures.
Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
