CLEARING & FORWARDING OPERATIONS MANAGER @ AXIA HR
Our client, a reputable logistics company, is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Clearing & Forwarding Operations Manager to join their growing team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in optimizing supply chain workflows, ensuring that all cargo movements adhere to regulatory standards, and driving operational excellence across the organization. This position requires a professional who can lead teams, mitigate risks in documentation processes, and foster productive relationships with external partners including customs authorities and shipping lines.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end clearing and forwarding operations, ensuring timely and compliant cargo clearance for all clients. You will manage internal teams to maintain high service levels, handle complex logistical challenges, and provide strategic input to improve operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with a deep understanding of local and international trade regulations, capable of delivering on time and maintaining the company's reputation for excellence.

Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Clearing and Forwarding operations.
Deep knowledge of Tanzania Customs and Excise regulations.
Proven experience in managing and leading operational teams.
Strong proficiency in TANCIS or other customs management systems.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills with stakeholders.
Ability to handle high-pressure environments and meet tight deadlines.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics software.
Strong analytical skills to monitor operational KPIs.
Fluent in both Swahili and English, both written and verbal.
