SENIOR MANAGER – ADMINISTRATION AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMES @ AGA KHAN UNIVERSITY (AKU)
Aga Khan University (AKU) is seeking a highly motivated and strategic professional for the position of Senior Manager – Administration and Educational Programmes. This role is based at the Arusha Climate & Environmental Research Centre (ACER) and involves providing comprehensive leadership for administrative, operational, and educational functions. The successful incumbent will play a pivotal role in supporting the Centre's research mission, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing high-level stakeholder engagement within the Arusha campus and beyond.
The Senior Manager will oversee the successful implementation of educational programmes, including field schools and research visits, while maintaining academic excellence. Furthermore, this position carries the responsibility of managing operational risks, coordinating ICT resources, overseeing grant administration, and maintaining research facilities. The individual will lead diverse teams of administrative staff and interns, fostering a culture of integrity and professional growth within the Aga Khan Development Network ecosystem.

Key Requirements
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Environmental Science, Public Administration, Project Management, or related fields
Minimum of 5–7 years of professional experience in administration, operations, or project management
Demonstrated experience in a university, research institution, or environmental organization
Proven expertise in grant management, financial oversight, and research administration
Strong leadership and people management skills with experience supervising staff
Excellent organizational and project coordination abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and modern project management software
Fluency in English with strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Commitment to institutional values and ability to work outside normal hours when necessary
