HR World Limited, on behalf of our client, is seeking Mechanical & Electrical Operators for on-site roles, responsible for the safe operation, monitoring, and basic maintenance of power generation equipment. The primary objective is to ensure optimal performance and reliability of generator systems, including carrying out routine daily inspections of generators and associated equipment. Operators will safely start, operate, and shut down generator sets in accordance with established operating procedures, continuously monitoring performance parameters and maintaining accurate hourly operational records. This role also involves controlling and optimizing generator load for efficient performance, monitoring alarms, faults, and system malfunctions, and promptly communicating issues to Site Engineers. Responding appropriately to generator trips, alarms, and shutdown situations is critical. Operators will continuously monitor generator SMU readings, communicate preventive maintenance requirements, and perform accurate parameter logging while maintaining clear operational communication. Furthermore, responsibilities include monitoring diesel/CFO fuel systems and LV/MV electrical systems to ensure reliable operations. Operators will support preventive maintenance activities, provide input on parts lifecycle and consumption forecasting, and identify basic equipment failures to assist in troubleshooting and repair. Ensuring compliance with operational, safety, and environmental standards at all times is paramount, along with maintaining accurate operational reports and records. Other duties may be assigned by management as needed.

Key Requirements

Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience operating large Caterpillar generators or working in power generation environments with continuous 24/7 operations Mandatory hands-on knowledge of Caterpillar generator systems Proven experience in generator startup and shutdown procedures Strong understanding of engine parameter monitoring, alarm response, load sharing, and synchronization
