Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) is seeking dynamic and experienced Health Volunteers to serve as Assistant Nursing Officers across 25 available posts. The primary goal is to strengthen the nursing department by providing essential clinical nursing care within CCBRT's allocated areas, including Outpatient Department (OPD), Inpatient Department (IPD), or Operating Theatre Department (OTD). CCBRT is a leading provider of accessible specialized health services in Africa, committed to preventing lifelong disabilities and engaged in extensive maternal and newborn healthcare activities.

As an Assistant Nursing Officer, you will be responsible for delivering nursing care in strict adherence to quality and safety regulations and standards, always upholding patient dignity. Key responsibilities include ensuring all necessary patient preparations are completed before consultations or procedures, assisting doctors during examinations and surgeries, and facilitating communication by translating information between patients and doctors (Kiswahili to English and vice versa) when language barriers exist. Furthermore, you will be involved in communicating sensitive medical information, counseling patients, performing clinical procedures, maintaining accurate record-keeping, and effectively managing patient flow within the clinical area. These positions are offered under CCBRT's health volunteer terms and conditions, with potential work locations in the region of Dar es Salaam and the Eastern Zone of Tanzania.

Key Requirements

Possess a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery. Must be registered and hold a valid license from the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council. Demonstrate good communication skills in both English and Swahili. Be flexible, capable of multitasking, proactive, and eager to learn new practices. Ability to provide high-quality clinical nursing care according to established standards.
