Hsd-melt is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Kimbiji, Kigamboni. This full-time position offers a competitive salary of TZS 3.5M – 4.0M per month, reflecting the critical role this individual will play in maintaining and optimizing the company's operational efficiency. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring equipment reliability, upholding safety compliance, and driving maintenance excellence across the plant.
The role involves leading maintenance teams and effectively managing departmental resources to achieve strategic objectives. Key responsibilities include conducting thorough root cause analysis to identify and resolve issues, as well as implementing effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence. The engineer will also be responsible for planning annual maintenance schedules, coordinating shutdowns, and managing spare parts to minimize downtime. Furthermore, a strong commitment to maintaining ISO standards, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies, and 5S practices is essential to foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
Key Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 8 years' experience in an integrated cement plant (preferred).
Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance.
Experience with cement plant equipment including crushers, VRMs, kilns, clinker coolers, conveyors, ball mills, compressors, and pollution control systems.
Hands-on experience in major equipment overhauls, troubleshooting, machinery alignment, shutdown planning, and maintenance management systems (ERP/CMMS).
