The Structural Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and supervision of civil and structural works within the manufacturing plant and related projects. The role ensures structural integrity, safety, and efficiency in the construction and maintenance of industrial facilities, including factory buildings, warehouses, and supporting infrastructure. You will also support product-related structural applications such as roofing systems and ensure all designs comply with engineering standards and local regulatory requirements. Beyond design, the engineer is expected to prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications, specifically focusing on steel structures and reinforced concrete. Responsibilities include producing detailed 2D drawings and 3D BIM models while preparing tender documents and bills of quantities. You will conduct frequent site inspections to provide technical guidance to contractors and ensure that all projects adhere to occupational health and safety policies while maintaining accurate technical documentation.
Key Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
Registration with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) as a Graduate or Professional Engineer.
In-depth knowledge of structural design principles and construction methodologies.
Experience in designing industrial steel structures and reinforced concrete systems.
Proficiency in producing detailed 2D drawings and 3D BIM models.
