ACCOUNTANT @ NATIONAL SPIRITUAL ASSEMBLY OF THE BAHA'IS OF TANZANIA
The National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of Tanzania, a religious institution based in Makongo Juu, Dar es Salaam, is seeking a qualified Accountant with integrity, spiritual qualities, and accounting experience to join its finance team. This position requires an individual capable of efficiently managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting principles and standards.
The Accountant will be responsible for preparing and maintaining accurate records of income and expenditure, and for producing comprehensive financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Key duties also include managing payments and receipts of funds, performing regular bank reconciliations, and overseeing budget adherence and expenditure tracking.
A crucial part of this role involves ensuring strict compliance with financial policies and accounting regulations. The incumbent will also collaborate closely with both internal and external auditors during financial reviews, implement auditor's recommendations, and securely maintain all essential financial documents with confidentiality.
Furthermore, the Accountant will handle the preparation of statutory payments, including NSSF, PPF, PAYE, SDL, and WCF, and manage employee payroll. The role extends to reviewing internal control systems and proposing enhancements to improve financial operations and efficiency.
Other responsibilities include conducting internal audits, performing aging analysis for debts, and following up on outstanding financial advances. The Accountant will also provide professional support in responding to auditor queries and contribute to the development of systems aimed at enhancing the overall efficiency of the national finance office. Regular monitoring of expenditure reports and receipts for all disbursed funds is also required.
