CREDIT ORIGINATION OFFICER @ EXIM BANK
This role is for a Credit Origination Officer at EXIM BANK, responsible for overseeing the Originations and Monitoring Division. Key responsibilities include reviewing, recommending, and facilitating the credit sanctioning process, alongside comprehensive monitoring of the credit portfolio. The officer will also provide expert loan advice and ensure strict adherence to all lending policies and regulatory frameworks.
The officer will perform crucial tasks such as assessing customer credit risks and creditworthiness for both individuals and businesses, preparing thorough assessments, and collaborating closely with underwriting and collection teams to optimize loan performance. This involves recommending applications that align with the Bank's Risk Acceptance criteria while aiming for optimal returns. Pre-sanction visitations to client premises are required to verify business existence, continuity, and to discuss progress and challenges related to lending, offering technical support where necessary.
A significant part of the role involves assisting the Origination and Monitoring Manager in identifying market trends and formulating strategic directions for the department's end-to-end credit process. The officer is also responsible for ensuring proper implementation of the Bank's Risk policies and procedures, as well as maintaining regulatory and statutory compliance. Participation in product development and providing feedback for post-implementation reviews are expected.
Building and maintaining strong client relationships is paramount to support sound credit decisions. The role also encompasses identifying, measuring, and managing credit risk across a diverse range of on and off-balance sheet asset classes. The officer must ensure that agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA) and Turnaround Times (TAT) are met according to business demands. Proactive identification of early warning signals and immediate remedial measures to mitigate risks, along with ensuring timely renewal of all overdraft facilities, are critical.
Additional responsibilities include the preparation and issuing of offer letters and advise letters for clients, providing any information requested by Management, Credit Committee, or the Board, and supporting relevant stakeholders within and outside the department with assigned tasks. The job is located in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
