RESERVOIR ENGINEER @ ALTERG RESOURCES

0 Negotiable or Not Mentioned USA, Utah 19 days ago altergresources.com 1020 Views

AlterG Resources is a pioneering company dedicated to building the future of geothermal energy through innovative subsurface solutions. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Reservoir Engineer to join our team in Salt Lake City, Utah. This pivotal role involves leading reservoir engineering activities for Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS), where you will drive strategy, modeling, and execution from the early exploration phases through full-scale development and operations. As EGS performance relies heavily on engineered subsurface outcomes, your work will be critical in predicting temperature distribution, fluid flow, and permeability evolution in challenging geothermal environments.

The successful candidate will sit at the center of our subsurface decision-making process, integrating diverse data streams from geoscience, drilling, and production to create robust reservoir models. These models are essential for reducing uncertainty, improving thermal recovery, and supporting capital-efficient development across our multi-GW geothermal portfolio. Beyond technical execution, you will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing engineering team and providing strategic advice to executive leadership on subsurface risks and opportunities. If you are passionate about renewable energy and have the technical expertise to optimize complex reservoir systems, we encourage you to apply.

Key Requirements

Build, calibrate, and optimize advanced reservoir simulation models using tools like Petrel, ResFrac, or GOHFER. Define and lead reservoir engineering strategy across multiple Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) projects. Integrate geoscience, drilling, completions, and production data into cohesive subsurface models. Analyze production and injection data to optimize circulation, recovery, and reservoir sustainability. Partner with completions teams to model and validate hydraulic stimulation approaches in hot, tight rock. Lead resource forecasting, techno-economic modeling, and project-level decision support for geothermal portfolios. Advise executive leadership on subsurface risks, opportunities, and development strategy. Possess a strong background in engineering with a specific focus on geothermal or petroleum reservoir dynamics. Proven experience in managing and leading high-performing technical engineering teams. Advanced proficiency in numerical simulation and data integration to reduce subsurface uncertainty.
