CUSTOMS CLEARING OFFICER – 2 POSTS @ ZAMBIA CARGO AND LOGISTICS LIMITED
Zambia Cargo and Logistics Limited (ZCL) is seeking a qualified Customs Clearing Officer to manage and facilitate the smooth movement of goods through regulatory checkpoints. This role involves extensive handling of customs documentation, ensuring strict compliance with international trade laws, and coordinating directly with customs authorities to expedite import and export operations at our terminals. You will apply your expertise in tariff classifications and valuation methods to optimize tax calculations and minimize operational delays for clients.
This position is based in Tanzania, primarily supporting our terminal operations in Dar es Salaam. As a regional logistics provider owned by the Government of Zambia, we look for candidates who can maintain high standards of logistics efficiency. You will be responsible for working with various regulatory bodies to ensure that all freight forwarding activities align with current import/export regulations and company standards.

Key Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Customs Management, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
FIATA Diploma or a relevant recognized customs certification.
3–5 years of professional experience in customs clearing and logistics operations.
Proven experience in handling complex customs documentation and clearance procedures.
Extensive knowledge of tariff codes and international trade classifications.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with customs authorities and regulatory bodies.
Thorough understanding of local and international import/export laws.
Familiarity with customs brokerage practices and valuation methods.
Proficiency in performing duty and tax calculations accurately.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for document management.
