PRODUCTION MANAGER – MEAT VALUE ADDED PLANT @ YRCS
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to oversee our Meat Value Added Plant operations in Nairobi, Kenya. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the entire production process, from raw material handling to the final packaged product, ensuring that all activities align with organizational goals and international food safety standards. You will play a pivotal role in driving efficiency, managing yields, and minimizing waste while maintaining a high level of team performance and morale through consistent training and supervision of the production staff.
In this role, you will oversee a wide range of value-added processing activities including marinating, forming, cooking, slicing, and packing. You will be expected to ensure strict compliance with HACCP, GMP, and ISO/BRC standards at all times. Additionally, you will coordinate equipment maintenance schedules and lead process improvement initiatives to optimize output. The position offers a monthly budget of USD 2,500. Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Meat Science, or a closely related field.
At least 5 to 8 years of experience specifically in food or meat processing environments.
A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a leadership or management position.
In-depth knowledge of chilled and frozen value-added meat operations and processing techniques.
Demonstrated ability to manage daily production schedules, yields, and waste control protocols.
Proficiency in overseeing marinating, forming, cooking, slicing, and packing operations.
Strong understanding and experience with HACCP, GMP, and ISO/BRC food safety standards.
Excellent leadership, planning, and organizational skills to manage diverse production teams.
Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to handle equipment maintenance and process improvements.
Strong communication skills for effective team training and supervision within a factory setting.
