HERITAGE FOODS PRODUCTION COORDINATOR @ WONDERGARDEN
The Heritage Foods Production Coordinator serves as a critical link in Wondergarden's culinary conservation movement. This role involves managing the end-to-end value chain for over 200 native East African products, ensuring that items move efficiently from farming communities to customer shelves. You will be responsible for frontline buying, overseeing complex production processes, and maintaining rigorous stock control across various storage types, including dried, canned, and refrigerated goods. This position requires someone who is deeply committed to preserving indigenous food knowledge while maintaining modern operational standards. You will operate between Moshi, Usa River, and Arusha, coordinating logistics and ensuring that every product meets the highest standards of quality and traceability. This role demands high integrity, organizational precision, and a proactive approach to solving supply chain challenges. You will work closely with the Operations Manager to report on workflows, manage costs, and ensure that our retail and market presence remains strong and consistent. The ideal candidate is someone who sees themselves as an advocate for small-scale farmers and is ready to dedicate themselves to a two-year commitment to growth and sustainable production practices.
Key Requirements
Proven experience in stock-keeping and purchasing.
Strong mathematical skills and proficiency in Excel.
Fluent in both spoken and written English and Swahili.
Valid driving license is strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of food handling and safety standards.
Ability to manage production workflows for drying, roasting, and milling.
Experience in retail logistics and market management.
Demonstrated integrity and honesty in financial and supplier dealings.
Commitment to agricultural heritage and indigenous food conservation.
Ability to commit to a minimum of 2 years of service.
